Trying to make babies…

It may take time and patience to get pregnant, even more with endometrios

Some of you have surely asked this question, when you landed on this blog. What is she trying for? 🙂

I can imagine though, that blog readers who find themselves in the same situation, immediately knew, because I’m sure, that so many of you are doing the same.

It was thanks to our attempt to have a baby, that I discovered at the beginning of this year, that I have endometriosis, which is the case for so many women out there, not to know that they have this condition, until they notice that they are not getting pregnant so easily.

It’s not that I never tried finding out what’s wrong with me…In the last 10 years, I talked to at least 8 different doctors and gynaecologists about my monthly cramps and pain and I even landed in the emergency room at our local hospital twice, because I nearly fainted from pain. No one ever even mentioned endometriosis and I had never heard of it myself. I started doubting myself and my pain Limits at one point. I was told so many times, it was normal to have menstrual pains and discomfort, that I tried to live with it… ‘Have a baby’, they said… and the pain will go away. (which is the biggest bullshit, I’ve ever heard, so ladies, please don’t believe these things.)

With a fixed monthly amount of pain killers and by avoiding Menstruation, while taking birth control meds without pausing, I could actually live a ‘normal’ life, with the occasional stomach aches, cramps and gut problems.

Until of course, we really started to try having a baby in September 2017… I stopped taking the birth control pill, could no longer take anti inflammatory pain killers such as Ibuprofen, and it didn’t take long until the pain and cramps returned, in full force! This (of course) didn’t stop us and my husband and I gave everything to naturally have a baby and have fun doing it. This meant at that time, no temperature measuring, no alarm clock to meticulously time the best moment to conceive, no hormones. We just had sex…a lot… and enjoyed it. 🙂

I will tell you the rest of my story in next week’s blogpost. To be continued…
